Antonio's Bar and Restaurant

We can recommend a taverna in Gran Canaria, where we enjoyed homemade seafood/meat paella and goat's stew! The owner is also the chef called Antonio, a really nice guy. The place is called Antonio's Bar and Restaurant and is situated in a pretty town called Santa Lucia.It is a long and winding drive (not by American standards) through mountainous country. It may be worth an overnight stay although there is not much accommodation at the moment. We visited in January 2007, however, Antonio is hoping to add five rooms for guests by October this year.Melvyn Page.
